Your place in this Pool

Asked · waiting on you

Lena asked you into Friday Subs at 8:15 this morning. You haven’t answered, so you aren’t listed and nobody here can find you. The ask expires Wed 30 Sep, 08:15 UTC.

Answer the ask

Leaving

One action, from here or from any message. You’re out within sixty seconds; ours takes under one. §5.3

Ask the Pool

Five o’clock. Who’s free?

Ask in plain words. Only players who said yes to Friday Subs can come up, and each answer says which of your words it came up for. The Pool reads words, not minds.

Asking 3 players who said yes. Kofi was asked this morning and hasn’t answered, so he can’t come up.

Try:

DARÍO MÉNDEZ

dario-bajo.bandcamp.exampleSigned in with OAuth

Bass player from Veracruz, eleven years in Port Ellery. Subs on short notice. Wants his written English to sound like his spoken English.

Came up for sub, bass. Answers by rule.

MAE CASTELLANO

maecastellano.bandcamp.exampleSigned in with OAuth

Drummer. Jazz on weeknights, punk on weekends, whatever you need on Friday. Keeps sticks in the car.

Came up for sub, friday. Answers by rule.

2 players came up. Read what each came up for before you call. Nothing was sent. This is an example.

Who answers, and how

Two by rule, the rest by hand.

An auto-accept rule is the player’s own, written ahead of time. It’s off unless they write one, it can’t reach an invite-only Pool, and it never says yes quietly. §5.5

Read off their own pages.

Every profile lives on the player’s own page. We read h-card markup first and infer the rest, and we mark which is which, because a guess should look like a guess. §2.2 §2.3

Asked by Lena Mon 28 Sep, 08:15 UTC. He keeps no auto-accept rules, so the ask waits for him, for 48 hours at most.

We don’t read his page until he says yes. Until then the Pool knows one thing about him: where to send the ask. §5.2

Who can write to a player

Five people try to reach Mae.

Three layers, in order: the block lists we subscribe to, the Pool’s rule that writers sign in with OAuth, and Mae’s own rule, pool-mates only. §7
